Hey Katie! I work at WPRK (Thursday mornings, 3AM to 6 AM “Anything and Everything: Above Ground and Underground”). I met you once, you commented on my Motley Crue t-shirt, and so and so forth…
I feel you on that topic. For me, it works in a different way.
I am in a band called the Aristocracy. And I have seen the power of influence, based on what we do as a band. In the early days, I would walk into a place, wearing odd clothing, hair long and possibly out-of-date (as I usually dig it) and people would stare and say things under their breath, probably stuff like “Who is this weird black guy?” But once me and the guys would get up there and do our thing, their perception of us would change and by the end of the show, they were really into it. So, I think that it works both ways: in the grasp of the artist, and the grasp of fans as well. I hope that made sense…

Remember: Only use your power for good!
Cheers,

The life of an artist is to make people see things that they should see and see what they already see differently. Not a bad way to live, really. Keep up the good work.
